I am considering using Microsoft Teams for a small team, but we don’t currently have an Office 365 subscription. Can we still use Microsoft Teams without a subscription, and if so, what limitations would we face in terms of features and functionality?

Is it possible to use Microsoft Teams Without Office 365 Subscription?

As a short Answer: Yes, If you don't have Microsoft 365 and you don't use a business or school account, you can get a basic version of Microsoft Teams.

However, the free version comes with certain limitations, including:

  • Limited meeting duration (up to 60 minutes per meeting).
  • No advanced security features such as compliance tools, encryption, or access control policies.
  • Limited file storage (2GB per user, 10GB shared storage).
  • Limited collaboration tools and administrative controls.
