In Microsoft Teams, the maximum number of members limit in a team is 10,000 members. However, the number of members in an org-wide team is limited to 5,000 members.
Note: In GCC, Teams Members is limited to 5,000 members. Also, in GCCH/DoD, it can only hold 2,500 members.
The upper limit on org-wide team membership will be raised from 5,000 to 10,000 users in Jan 2021 but it still in development as shown below:
